One of a Kind Christmas Show and Sale

Host Shanua Baker is at BC Place to see what vendors have to offer the crowds of growing Christmas shoppers.

This is the first show of its kind in Vancouver, having come from Toronto where it’s been on the go for thirty-five years, New York for two, and Chicago for ten. Having graced our wet city with its presence, now we ask, what’s it all about? Sue Lavitt, Show Manager of One of a Kind Vancouver, describes the event in this way, “All of our vendors are artisans, artists, designers, makers of all sorts of different things, so everything in the show has to be handmade, well-made, one of a kind items, so completely unique. It was started by Steven Levy in Toronto thirty-five years ago, him and three friends…decided to start a show, and it’s grown from there.”

Luxuriously upholstered chairs dripping with tassles; bags of recycled/organic/green materials in sparky colours and patterns, all shapes and sizes; jewelry made of stones from various regions of the earth and shaped into design wonders to sit around the neck; knits made from the highest quality silks and cashmeres from Italy, wools from Canada where the artist has actually met the animals that contribute to her yarns, it’s all there…
